The design is a raised carving. At the center is a pictorial depiction of a bird of prey attacking animal. The presentation is unorthodox which makes it really endearing. It is a fine example of older Chinese folk art. Provenance: Shanxi Province, North Central China Date: 17th Century Dimensions: 24 inches wide, 34 inches high and 2 inches thick Condition: generally good antique condition with some discoloration, dirt and shrinkage. less
