The pieces are … more Offered is a rare mid century service for 12 that has been little and possibly never used. The pieces are silverplate except the dinner knives, which are all stainless steel. The set is missing a salad fork. The set consists of: 12 – 7.5″ Dinner Forks 11 – 7″ Salad Forks 12 – 7 1/8″ Oval Soup Spoons 24 – 6″ Teaspoons 12 – 9 1/8″ All Stainless Dinner Knives 2 – 8 5/8″ Serving Spoons 1 – 7″ Master Butter Knife 1 – 6″ Suger Shell SpoonGorham Stegor Pace was introduced in 1953 and sold for only the next few years. Stegor was a line Gorham introduced in the 1950s to sell modern styled high end stainless flatware in department and gift stores. Pace is one of the only patterns Gorham produced in both silver plate and stainless. It features a streamlined 50s design with a slightly upraised handle tip. Stegor has XP-125 extra heavy silverplating. Meaning that Stegor is plated with more pure silver than the accepted standard for the finest silverplated flatware and over the entire piece. Stegor also has dent resistant, rattle-proof one-piece knife handles that cannot come apart or develop unsightly seams. The all stainless dinner knives have never been used and all have their original stickers. This set was purchased together in the original Stegor chest. The chest was damaged and has been replaced with a similar one. Likely this set was received as a gift and was never used. All the pieces have only the slight wear and tarnish expected from 70 years of storage.
