Hand-written signature on the bottom left corner with official “MS” stamp and dated 1934. Framed in a natural light wood frame with white matte and glass protection. Measurements: With frame: 14 in. wide (35.5 cm) x 21.25 in. high (54 cm). Opening view: 7.50 in. wide (19 cm) x 14.57 in. high (37 cm).About:Marie Louise Simard (1886-1963) is a French sculptress and painter. She was born in Paris. She learned the rudiments of sculpture in Monaco with a stone cutter. Exhibits at the Salon des Tuileries and The Salon des Independants from 1927. She created several decorative bronzes, nudes, figures dancing, elegant female figures in silvered bronze, enamels, or the “Dinanderie” technic. She is also known for watercolor and works on paper. She has exhibited at the Edgar Brandt and Danthon Galleries in Paris, and also several exhibits in Madrid, Prague, and Tokyo. less
