Condition top to bottom: The Hayes-Erie facets are in very good cosmetic condition, with chrome that is exceptional in appearance for the age. They were not recently tested with water, but the movement is smooth and feels correct on both. The “post” between them is showing its age, with the brass showing through the chrome. This was kept as these pieces are not all that easy to acquire. The porcelain on the flat horizontal surface is in fine shape with relatively few blemishes to be found. There are some light scratches and only a couple small chips on the left side and one on the front rim. The bottom of the bowl has a few tiny chips, the largest measuring approximately 0.04″. The sides and back are very good. Taken as whole, the entire top, bowl and faucets are in excellent condition for a piece of this age. The vertical sides are fine. Aside from two lines running down the left side that look like water marks, all is in excellent condition, with few scratches and no dings to be found. The bottom edge has several chipped spots that were filled in and painted. These spots are not perfect – There is still a little roughness and the paint is pure white (whiter than the porcelain). There is a little in the front, but mainly they are on the sides and back. A lot of the time we repaint the bottom of the sinks we sell just to clean up the appearance, but in this case it was left as-is to show that there is very little rust present. The pedestal looks very good overall, but the band above the vertical lines has been repaired and painted, as has a line running down the left side. These look the same as the ones on the sink, much better than before, but not perfect. The rest of the pedestal is in good, above average condition, and the interior is nearly corrosion free. Please see the pictures for further details.*** This piece is described in greater detail than is normally found, as the camera likes to hide blemishes with items such as this. There are pictures included with and without the use of flash in an attempt to show the details.
