Vintage mahogany chest of drawers with elegant lines and an Asian aesthetic, bearing the original maker’s mark from the furniture … more Vintage mahogany chest of drawers with elegant lines and an Asian aesthetic, bearing the original maker’s mark from the furniture manufacturer (Ramseur Furniture Company out of Ramseur, North Carolina) and a contract label guarantee from the Mahogany Association, Inc. (an artifact from the period between 1936 and 1969 when the organization was issuing the certification labels).The chest was purchased at an estate sale in North Carolina. History provided indicates it was a custom piece, commissioned by the original owner in the 1940s. The style is, indeed, a distinct departure from other pieces made by this company.Detailed workmanship with dove-tailed joinery visible on the interior sides of the drawers.The item has been refinished, with its cabernet stain restored. The hardware/pulls are original with their beautiful patina were left unaltered. Top drawer has been newly lined with satin (removable) to stow jewelry or delicates. less
